Note about our prices: The true cost of producing one of these quilts is reflected in the price. These top-quality, collectible vintage silk scarves take a very long time to amass, are often expensive, and take many days to sew in what is an extremely fiddly, painstaking process. The organic hemp backing is also a relatively expensive fibre, but long-lasting and worth the cost. There is no real way to cut corners either with materials or technique, so in order not to pay ourselves less than minimum wage, our prices have had to reflect actual costs.

This particular bedspread is painstakingly handmade from 16 beautiful collectible vintage scarves (all but 3 are silk - I only used some synthetic scarves because they were so amazing - they're by Vera and include the sun scarf at centre.

The collection includes a total of six "Vera" scarves -- Vera Neumann was the undisputed master of geometric scarf design -- as well as collectible Christian Dior and other European scarves, all from the 1960s and 70s.

This is not a duvet cover and it's not designed to keep you warm at night - it's a work of art for your bed, a flat bed covering  to to produce a more decorative, finished look a la Wallpaper or Nest Magazine.

Each handmade bedspread is unique. We collect the very best geometric vintage 1960s and 70s scarves (and sometimes older) for the first side - each scarf is like an abstract painting. This is the mod version of patchwork. The flip side is a sturdy, solid-tonehemp/cotton weave in a subtle, mod tone of palest sage/khaki - the look is like linen but more modern.

100% unisex.
Dry-cleaning is best - reputable cleaners do a great job (this is what we use - in Vancouver it costs about $30. A decorative quilt does not need to be cleaned often).

This is a minimalist use of a variety of stripes. Ticking is an extremely durable cotton weave.The flip side is a sturdy, solid-tonehemp/cotton weave in a subtle, mod tone of neutral cream - the look is like linen but more modern.

100% unisex.
Dry-cleaning is fine, but delicate machine-washing is okay - all materials have been pre-washed and pre-shrunk. Iron on hot.
