Used since the earliest days of human culture for clothing, decor, bedding and bags, fur has a long hold on our imagination. Seldom any longer a material of survival, fur still adds texture and visual interest to any room, it's beguiling and sensual, and when it's reclaimed from the mountain of discarded vintage coats currently in existence, it is relatively guilt-free. We don't believe vintage coats should end up in landfill, and we're happy that many of them are now being transformed into other things.
We think fur pillows work equally well in traditional and modern interiors.

About our pillows
These are deluxe pillows, sturdily made and designed to become heirlooms.
They are made from 100% genuine fur reclaimed from clean vintage coats. They are virtually the only fur pillows on the market with fur on both sides, front and back. Our fur pillows also tend to be larger than most fur pillows and they are substantially stuffed.
All our fur is cleaned using a non-toxic process. Please note that we do not buy fur coats from the public except in special circumstances (high quality, wholesale price).
We use clean feather filling, not foam, unless requested otherwise. We also offer organic bamboo filling for an extra surcharge of $20, but please note: We have experimented with new natural fillings such as kapok, bamboo and natural latex, but we currently feel that not only are these materials still very expensive, they also do not perform nearly well enough - they are hard, lumpy, very heavy or feel like bad foam. These are well-known issues in the sustainable materials industry. We are eagerly waiting for the second generation of sustainable fillings to solve some of the problems of the first. But please ask us if you want to avoid feather. We can also do a combination of bamboo and feather or foam.
Returns
Our return policy is excellent. If your item doesn't work, send it back for full refund minus return shipping. Any defects/oddities will be noted in the item's description. All natural fur sheds to some very tiny degree, but it's usually not noticeable at all with the exception of some rabbit, and that will always be noted in the description.

Notes on fur balls:As these fur "balls" are merely made from two flat fur circles, they are in fact slightly flattened "spheres" with a mildly scalloped edge, like a giant clam. Raccoon (the black and brown stripes) will scallop a bit more than others due to hide thickness but it doesn't detract from appearance. Average appearance is of a shape 10" wide and about 6-7" high, yet they still appear round. The seam is at the widest diameter. Each ball has its own character, as the fur behaves differently on each one depending on the piecing style of the coat from which it was made. Wabi sabi! Fur balls are strongly reinforced and will withstand handling and relatively rough treatment - within reason. |
